Philippa Vaughan, who inherited £770,000 and lives in a £1m home in Hammersmith, described the annual payments of £27,000 she currently received from her husband as 'totally inadequate'.
The couple married in 1967 and lived in Kensington before divorcing in 1985. There were no children.
The High Court heard Philippa Vaughan's claim last year, but instead of awarding her a lump sum, Richard Anelay QC terminated her annual payments.
The court heard that she owned an antique desk valued at £300,000, but she argued that the ruling ignored the £200,000 she needed to spend on her home, a listed building.
However, it is estimated that the couple have already spent £200,000 on legal bills.
