Cabinet Office issues new procurement policy note

The UK government’s Cabinet Office published a new procurement policy note on 10 February, which sets out detailed guidance for procurement and commercial practitioners that work with the government on tackling modern slavery in government supply chains. The guidance states that the information provided may also be useful for private sector organisations and those working in the voluntary or charitable sectors. The guidance outlines four key areas: identifying and managing risks in new procurements, accessing existing contracts, taking action when victims of modern slavery are identified, and training.
