Junior lawyers have written to the SRA calling on the regulator to take practical measures to protect young solicitors' well-being. The letter comes in the wake of two cases involving respectively a trainee (SRA v Emily Scott) and a newly qualified solicitor (SRA v Sovani James), both of whom were found to have been suffering from mental ill-health as a result of excessive work pressures, and both of whom were struck off. The letter refers especially to concerns in relation to whistleblowers.
