Cardiff gets new District Judge

On the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon, the King has appointed Charlotte Murphy to be a District Judge

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Welsh Circuit, based at Cardiff (Magistrates’ Court) with effect from 19th September 2023.

Charlotte Murphy will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Murphy. She was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2007. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2011. She was appointed a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2019.
