Tech companies submit draft plan on detecting unwanted location trackers

The draft plan is open to feedback from interested parties
Technology companies including Apple and Google submitted a draft plan to the Internet Engineering Task Force on detecting unwanted location trackers on 2 April, which proposes a new industry standard to combat surveillance through AirTags and other devices. The proposed standard follows police reports of Bluetooth trackers being abused, which includes instances of stalkers using such gadgets to track former partners and instances where other people were unaware that they were being tracked.
