TEACHING WIN

By Nicola Laver
The legal advice centre at Nottingham Law School has recovered £3m in benefits and compensation since its inception five years ago. The centre was set up as an alternative business structure in 2015, the first on its kind, and runs as a 'teaching law firm'. Students supervised by solicitors offer legal advice to clients either through modules within the curriculum or by volunteering in addition to their study. Centre head Laura Pinkney said it was important that the lawyers of the future have a sense of social and civic responsibility. 13 March 2019
