Wright Hassall reported a 31% increase in the number of divorce enquiries since the UK lockdown in March 2020. According to the firm, almost a third of adults said increased use of social media was a contributing factor to the rise in cases. The survey also revealed 44% of adults would consider ending their relationship if they found their partner sending or receiving anything inappropriate online to a third party. Separately, Citizens Advice reported a 25% increase in views on its divorce webpage during the first weekend in September compared to the same weekend in 2019. 11 December 2020
