STRUCK OFF

By Nicola Laver
A legal aid solicitor has been struck off after he admitted backdating an application for inquest funding, then attempting to destroy the document. Charles David Myers, who was admitted to the roll in 2017, had been an assistant solicitor at Mintons in Leeds when he realised the funding applications were not signed. He asked the clients to do so just prior to the inquest, before backdating them. Myers ultimately admitted his conduct to his managers and later to the SRA. However, the SDT decided to strike him off the roll and ordered him to pay £2,322 in costs. 14 February
