Sir David Lidington Appointed as Non-Executive Director
DLA Piper appoints Sir David Lidington, a seasoned figure in UK governance, to their board
DLA Piper, a leading global law firm, announced the appointment of Sir David Lidington as a Non-Executive Director to its Board, effective from January 1, 2024. Sir David, renowned for his illustrious career in the public sector, brings over three decades of experience to this role.
Having held prominent positions within the UK Government, including roles as Lord Chancellor, Secretary of State for Justice, and Leader of the House of Commons, Sir David's expertise spans various spheres of governance. His extensive background also includes strategic advisory roles within the private sector, notably with Mitie, a facilities management organization, and other financial services entities.
Sir David is recognized for his insightful discussions on a range of pressing global issues, encompassing defense, financial crime, cybercrime, and climate security. His interest in emerging technologies, particularly AI, aligns with DLA Piper’s focus on expanding and enriching client services.
Commenting on Sir David's appointment, Jon Hayes, Global Co-Chair at DLA Piper, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Sir David's wealth of geopolitical knowledge coupled with his dual-sector experience will significantly benefit our International Board.
