Riverview announces recruitment drive

Fixed-price service aims to double in size by end of year
Riverview Law, the fixed-price commercial law brand, has announced a major recruitment drive at its customer service centre on the Wirral.
In a statement this morning Riverview said it would recruit 100 more staff in the course of the next year, doubling its size.
It is understood that around half the new posts will be for lawyers or 'business law executives', with the other half being client managers, IT developers and data analysts.
Riverview Law was launched in February last year and is backed by DLA Piper and AdviserPlus, an HR advice service aimed at SMEs. It provides advice through Riverview Solicitors and Riverview Chambers, though it has applied to become an ABS.
Riverview said the expansion was the result of a "number of contract wins with FTSE 100 businesses", though it did not name names. It aims to have appointed 25 new staff at its Bromborough centre by the end of this year.
"For far too long law firms have been protected by myth and regulation," Karl Chapman, chief executive of Riverview Law, said.
"Customers are no longer prepared to put up with an outdated hourly charging model and, rightly, are demanding more value from their lawyers.
"Our exponential growth rates show that customers are voting with their wallets. The direction of travel for the legal market, and Riverview Law, is very clear and is the reason we're keen to recruit so many people.
"At one of our recent team briefing sessions I asked our team to shout out the words they would use to describe Riverview to a potential recruit.
"Their suggestions included 'customer first', 'different', 'equality', 'fun', 'friendly', 'honest', 'liberating', 'professional' and 'responsible'. To these I would add 'mad' … it helps to be just a little bit mad!"
