Renewables Seminar Record Numbers

Record numbers attended Scottish law firm Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP’s annual renewables seminar this month, which put the spotlight on Scotland's trajectory towards achieving its onshore wind targets.

The seminar delved into crucial topics such as planning, the Sector Deal, grid reform and grid upgrades, green hydrogen, battery storage and the evolving approach required for industry players to future-proof sites.

Andy McFarlane, Head of Renewables at WJM, said: "Our annual event has gone from strength to strength and this year’s attendance shows a heightened interest in recent industry developments, as well as highlighting the sector’s shared commitment to Scotland's renewable energy future.

“Our speakers and panellists held engaging discussions on the consenting landscape post-NPF4 and the role the Sector Deal will play going forward, the pressing issues and cost challenges facing all power generators around the grid and green hydrogen. Despite the challenges it was pleasing to note the resilience and adaptability of the developer community who were strongly represented at the seminar.
