RABBIT IN HEADLIGHTS
By Nicola Laver
A criminal solicitor who failed to conduct an application before the Court of Appeal competently and described his appearance as 'harrowing', has been reprimanded by the SDT. Afame Offiah, who has been qualified for 19 years, would normally have instructed counsel. Appeal judges called his application 'totally hopeless'. The tribunal said it was clear the solicitor had been 'a rabbit caught in headlights' when he found himself unexpectedly appearing before the Court of Appeal.
