A criminal solicitor who failed to conduct an application before the Court of Appeal competently and described his appearance as 'harrowing', has been reprimanded by the SDT. Afame Offiah, who has been qualified for 19 years, would normally have instructed counsel. Appeal judges called his application 'totally hopeless'. The tribunal said it was clear the solicitor had been 'a rabbit caught in headlights' when he found himself unexpectedly appearing before the Court of Appeal.
