Queen Mary offers work experience with global firm under new LLM
Successful scholarship applicants will undertake an internship at Norton Rose Fulbright
LLM students at Queen Mary's law school in London will receive a two-week internship with global player Norton Rose Fulbright as part of their education, the university has announced.
Students from the LLM Energy and Natural Resources Law course will compete for two places on the combined internship/scholarship programme. Approximately 38 students will embark on the course at the beginning of the academic year.
No student is excluded from applying, and successful applicants will be decided on merit by a panel of law school faculty members and lawyers from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Norah Gallagher, academic director of the new Energy and Natural Resources Law Institute at Queen Mary's, said: 'The partnership is a testament to the growing reputation of a new but popular programme with a practical focus. It underlines our commitment…to building important links with energy partners in the legal profession, industry and commerce.
'Norton Rose Fulbright is a truly global legal practice, with a stellar reputation and the offer of an internship as well as the scholarship represents an excellent opportunity for future scholars and practitioners of energy and natural resources law.'
Neil Q Miller, litigation partner in the energy practice at Norton Rose Fulbright, and a member of the working group committee for the course, said that given the firm's work in the energy industry, the opportunity to work with Queen Mary was both ideal and jointly beneficial.
