Osbornes Law celebrates 50th anniversary

London law firm Osbornes Law celebrated a fabulous 50 years in business with a party for colleagues and friends from across the legal sector

The lavish bash saw the firm take over three floors of the exclusive Century Club in Soho, treating guests to food, drinks and entertainment including a DJ and live jazz.

To mark the milestone, Osbornes has also donated £10,000 to its chosen charity partner this year, Food Bank Aid, which supports 30 food banks across North London and Hertfordshire.

Founded by solicitors Angus Andrew and Peter Kolbe in 1973, the firm was originally based above Camden tube station and is named after William Osborn MBE, a fellow solicitor who once practised there.

It has since grown to become one of the largest private client law firms in London, with offices in Camden and Hampstead and 160 lawyers and staff. It has also been recognised in The Times Best Law Firm Guide every year since entering in 2019.

Managing partner Stuart Kightley believes the secret to Osbornes’ success is its people and their unswerving commitment to delivering excellent client care.

Almost a third of its 26 partners have been with the firm for over 20 years, with several starting there as trainees.

Stuart says: “That kind of staff retention is fairly unusual in law firms these days and I like to think it comes down to the fact that we’re a good place to work with a strong ethos – we care about our colleagues and our clients and we’re well-respected among our peers.

“I think the esteem in which Osbornes is held shone out on the night and I’d like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Here’s to the next 50 years!”
