'Harry Potter' solicitor to face as yet undisclosed allegations by the SRA

The lawyer who was described as a 'Harry Potter' lookalike by a judge has been asked to answer allegations made by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

While details of the allegations have not yet been disclosed, Dr Alan Blacker will attend an initial case management hearing on 4 November prior to a potential disciplinary hearing at the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT).

'The allegations that the SDT has agreed Dr Blacker should answer are not yet available for publication. If this changes, they will be published on the SRA's website,' said the SRA.

The SDT is independent of the SRA, and it is for the regulator to prove the allegations true, using the criminal standard of proof.

The announcement from the SRA comes several months after Blacker lodged a complaint against Judge David Wynn Morgan for accusing him of dressing like 'something out of Harry Potter'.

The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office (JCIO) subsequently cleared Judge Morgan of any misconduct.

Blacker has faced scrutiny over listing an extensive number of qualifications, languages, and accolades on his LinkedIn professional networking page.

The 'Mozart of the courtroom' had claimed he was a trustee of the Zoological Society of London and a member of the St John Ambulance service.

A spokesperson for St John Ambulance in Wales has insisted the solicitor-advocate was 'not a member of the Order of St John' and called the police to investigate him.

Following this, a spokesman for the Zoological Society of London has stated that 'Alan Blacker is not a trustee' of the society.
