A £1.25bn financial package to protect the UK's tech innovation firms should be available to legal innovators, according to the Law Society. President Simon Davis said: 'Every £1 spent on legal services supports nearly £1.50 in spending across the entire UK economy, making technological innovation an important driver of wider growth.' On 20 April, the chancellor announced the package to protect firms driving innovation through the crisis. It includes a £500m investment fund for high-growth companies comprising funding from government and the private sector; with £750m in grants and loans available to SMEs focusing on research and development. 20 April 2020
