Legal aid cost limit increased
A revised cost limit will apply, except in relation to investigative representations
From 13 September, cost limit increases for emergency civil legal aid certificates will apply. Emergency certificates are used when there is no time to await a funding decision from the Legal Aid Agency (LAA). Full representation and family help (higher) will be affected. A revised cost limit of £2,250 will apply, except in relation to investigative representations, where the limit of £1,350 remains. The LAA said it had set a figure which does not exceed substantive cost limits across different categories of law.
