Law graduates paid less than dentists and chemical engineers

The average law graduate can expect to earn £24,492 in their first job after university, according to figures published by recruitment business Bridgewater Resources. That’s less than economics and maths graduates who average a starting salary of £29,068 and £25,896 respectively. Vets average around £30,000 in their first jobs, while dentists and chemical engineers are among the highest earners, with salaries starting at £34,840 and £31,824 respectively. Of course, the salary a law graduate can expect varies significantly depending on the firm or discipline they enter. Trainee solicitors entering magic circle firms could command salaries beyond the £40,000 mark.
