Specialist London family law partner joins reading office as ambitious growth plans continue

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has expanded its offering in the Reading and Thames Valley region with the appointment of specialist London family law partner Vandna Sharma. Vandna joins from Buckles Solicitors, she specialises in advising on a wide range of family law issues, particularly family finance, and has extensive experience of international family issues with a particular focus on navigating cultural sensitivities.  Building on her London and Thames Valley connections, Vandna will work alongside Lydia Pilati who is a family law associate.

Commenting on her new role, Vandna said: “I am so pleased to be joining Irwin Mitchell, the firm’s Reading office already has a strong private client services presence and I’m delighted to be able to complement that by adding to our family law services there.”

Ros Bever, National Head of Family Law at Irwin Mitchell said: "I’m thrilled to welcome Vandna to the team here at Irwin Mitchell, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in international, cultural and religious family law issues. Adding Vandna’s expertise to the team, and to be able to offer our clients specialist family law services in Reading and the Thames Valley region, as well as London, is fantastic.”

As well as having one of the largest family law teams in the country, Irwin Mitchell continues to progress its ambitious growth plans having recently agreed a deal to acquire Scottish based law firm Wright, Johnston and Mackenzie and agreed a deal to acquire Northeast based family law firm Silk Family Law. The specialist team helps clients with a broad range of family law issues, and regularly brings complex financial separation cases to the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. In addition to this, Irwin Mitchell recently appointed a specialist therapist and launched a Mediation Support Service to help clients with the wider elements of divorce and mediation beyond just the legal aspects. The Family team has also added to its already strong roster of specialist mediators with the appointment of veteran broadcaster and senior associate mediator Joanna Gosling.
