ICO updates FOI toolkit to help public bodies deal with vexatious requests
The toolkit aims to help public authorities assess when a request is vexatious
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) published an update to its freedom of information (FOI) toolkit on 25 April, which now includes information to enable public bodies to assess how to deal with vexatious FOI requests. The toolkit is in the form of a self-assessment that provides guidance on the various aspects such as when considering an organisation’s current position, understanding when the provision can be relied on and action on how to improve compliance.
