The consultation closes in March 2022

The government has launched a consultation on proposed reforms the Human Rights Act 1998. It has sought views on proposals to revise the Act and replace it with a Bill of Rights. Chapters 1 and 2 provide background on domestic and international human rights. Chapter 3 explores issues with the current law and outlines the case for reform. Chapter 4 sets out proposed reforms and their rationale. Each proposal is accompanied by consultation questions for response. The consultation closes at 11:59pm on 8 March 2022.
