Hamlins Launches Growth Strategy with Swan Turton Acquisition
This strategic move marks a shift for Hamlins, which is actively seeking further acquisitions to expand its expertise in sectors including media, sport, real estate, and technology
London-based law firm Hamlins has embarked on a new growth phase with the acquisition of boutique firm Swan Turton, aiming to enhance its media and tech practices.
The acquisition will see Swan Turton’s three partners, fee earners, staff, and consultants join Hamlins, boosting its headcount to 100, including 20 partners. Swan Turton is particularly well-known for its work in the music industry, representing high-profile clients like Madness, Adam Buxton, and the estate of Fleetwood Mac’s Peter Green.
Matthew Pryke, Hamlins’ managing partner, described the deal as a “milestone,” emphasising the synergy between the two firms, particularly in expanding non-contentious services and enhancing the overall client offering. Julian Bentley, a founding partner of Swan Turton, echoed this sentiment, noting that the merger would ensure a stronger future for their clients.
Hamlins has been a key player in high-profile legal cases, including phone hacking claims and privacy disputes. Its clients include public figures like Prince Harry and major sports organisations. With this acquisition, Hamlins continues to expand its market-leading position while maintaining its brand and culture.
