FOXING DAY

Outspoken lawyer Jolyon Maugham QC provoked an investigation by the RSPCA this Christmas after tweeting that he had killed a fox with a baseball bat while wearing his wife's 'too small green kimono' on Boxing Day. Maugham is no stranger to controversy, having taken a prominent anti-Brexit stance in recent months and been involved in the challenge against Boris Johnson's prorogation of parliament. The offending festive tweet, dubbed 'distressing' by the RSPCA, read: 'Already this morning I have killed a fox with a baseball bat. How's your Boxing Day going?' SJ 27 December 2019
