Fife's Rollos Solicitors raised £15,657 in Will Aid scheme
A triumphant achievement has unfolded in Fife, Scotland, as Rollos Solicitors emerged as the leading firm in this year's Will Aid campaign, donating a remarkable £15,657 to charity through their charity Will-writing initiative. The law firm's substantial contribution surpassed all others in Scotland, marking a significant milestone in their commitment to charitable endeavours.
To commemorate this achievement, the Rollos team was honoured to host a special visitor, Jenny Gilruth MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Mid Fife and Glenrothes. The occasion not only celebrated the success of the campaign but also highlighted the positive impact on individuals who secured their wishes through the creation of legally sound Wills.
The Will Aid campaign involves solicitors volunteering their time and expertise to draft basic Wills, foregoing their usual fees. Instead, clients are encouraged to make upfront donations, which directly contribute to Will Aid's nine partner charities. These charities, including ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland), and Trocaire (N. Ireland), use the funds to support life-changing initiatives both locally and globally.
Having participated in Will Aid since 1996, Rollos has consistently demonstrated its commitment to charitable giving. Over the years, the firm has raised an impressive total of £156,879. This year's fundraising accomplishment exceeded the previous campaign by over £6,000, showcasing the team's dedication to making a positive impact in their community.
Bob Inch, Partner at Rollos, expressed delight in reaching this remarkable milestone, emphasising the dual success of enabling more people to formalise their wishes legally and supporting charities engaged in impactful work.
Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid's campaign director, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Rollos team for their dedication, acknowledging the far-reaching impact of their efforts on individuals in Fife and beyond.
Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, Jenny Gilruth MSP, commended Rollos for their achievements over the years, surpassing the £156,000 mark for charity. She praised the team for providing peace of mind through professionally crafted Wills and applauded their ongoing commitment to community service.
The Will Aid campaign, taking place annually in November, relies on the participation of solicitors like Rollos. The suggested donation for a single Will is £100, and £180 for a pair of mirror Wills. Will Aid continues to encourage more solicitors to join the cause, fostering a widespread impact on both individuals and charitable organisations.
