Editor's letter: Keeping it fresh
This issue is dedicated to helping law firms to review plans and push through initiatives in the coming year, notes Manju Manglani
Many people see the new year as an opportunity to make a fresh start and refocus on key goals. Targets are often set by quarter and financial year, but there’s something about the changing of a digit that brings hope.
Business development is obviously a big issue on the agenda, with the continuing pressure on firms to increase profits as clients pass on the burden of their own shrinking budgets. And the new year is as good a time as any to review plans and push through initiatives.
So, this issue – our first in 2011 – is dedicated to helping firms to plan for the coming year.
Here at Managing Partner, we’ve also had a look at what works and what should be reassessed. This fresh-look issue brings more expert articles on the hot topics facing global law firm leaders, while bearing in mind the number of hours in the day. If you get a chance, I’d love to hear what you think.
Since it is almost upon us, I’ll sign off with a traditional greeting for the Chinese lunar new year.
Kung hei fat choi – may you prosper,
Manju Manglani, Editor
