Litigants in civil cases are entitled to receive their judgments in a reasonably short period of time, which should be no longer than three months, the Court of Appeal ruled. In Bank St Petersburg PJSC v Arkhangelsky [2020] EWCA Civ 408, judgment was given 22 months after the trial '“ an 'inexcusable delay' that denied justice to the winning party. Sir Geoffrey Voz said any other approach would lead to a loss of public and business confidence in the justice system. Such a delay should not be tolerated. 18 March
