David Warmback, a South African-British dual national, has been awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (M.B.E) for his commendable role as Honorary Consul in Durban, South Africa. This prestigious award acknowledges his voluntary support to the UK consular service, aiding British nationals in South Africa.

Warmback, who has collaborated with UK High Commission consular teams since 2012, has provided invaluable assistance, especially during challenging situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The UK’s consular service annually supports numerous individuals in South Africa, and Warmback's dedication has significantly contributed to this effort. The M.B.E will be presented to him at a ceremony in the UK in the near future.

Expressing his delight, UK High Commissioner to South Africa Antony Phillipson commended Warmback's well-deserved honor. He emphasized the crucial role played by individuals like Warmback with the skills, experience, and enthusiasm to assist those in need while in South Africa.

In response to the announcement, David Warmback expressed his privilege in contributing to the larger global UK consular network, particularly in Durban.
