CRIMINAL JUSTICE

By and

Wiltshire-based solicitor Richard Griffiths has piled in on criticism of the government over delays in the criminal justice system, dubbing it 'a shambles'. Griffith's tirade, reported on the Wiltshire Times website, follows similar complaints from local lawyer Rob Ross. In a letter to HM Court and Tribunal Service, Griffiths said: 'A properly functioning judicial system that deals in a timely and fair manner with criminal cases and civil cases alike is a cornerstone of any liberal democracy. The stakes are therefore extremely high.' 27 August 2020
