Covid in court
By Nicola Laver
Confirmed cases of covid-19 across 95 court locations were found between 26 January and 19 February 2021, involving 82 court staff, 16 judges, 13 jurors and 53 court users, according to Ministry of Justice figures. Courts minister Chris Philp said the figures were in line with the national average. In a bid to improve court safety, HM Courts and Tribunal Service (HMCTS) began piloting lateral flow testing for Southwark Crown Court in February, after a successful trial at Manchester Civil Justice Centre.
