Public Accounts Committee publishes report on support for vulnerable adolescents

The UK House of Commons Public Accounts Committee has published its report on support for vulnerable adults, which states that the cost of harm and adverse outcomes to vulnerable adolescents who are being failed by the system are “unacceptably and unnecessarily high”. The Committee’s key findings include: that there is a failure of ownership of the problem by the government, safeguarding systems are not working in some areas, and there is an increase in the overrepresentation of ethnic minorities in the youth justice system.
