Treasury to provide the Crown Prosecution Service with additional funding

The Attorney General for England and Wales, the Rt Hon Victoria Prentis KC MP, issued a statement on 7 February welcoming the announcement that HM Treasury will provide additional funding to the Crown Prosecution Service to increase prosecution fees. The statement stresses that parity of fees paid to prosecution and defence barristers is important to ensure fair representation in criminal cases. The Attorney General has been involved in the push for parity alongside the Bar Council and the Crown Prosecution Service.
