UK government agrees to increase payment rates

Director of Public Prosecutions at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Max Hill KC, announced on Twitter on 4 February that additional funding has been secured from the UK Treasury, and the Chancellor of the Exchequer, to increase prosecution fees for barristers in order to help restore parity with defence fees. Following an emergency deal with the Treasury, prosecution barristers will reportedly be offered a 15 per cent pay rise.
