Anne Bodley

Senior Counsel / Teaching Fellow, Queen Mary University of London

Anne is an Australian-born New York-qualified finance lawyer with 20 years' experience from international firms in New York (Mayer Brown), London (A&O) and Moscow (Clifford Chance) followed by 10 years with global bank HSBC (New York and London). She holds a Teaching Fellowship at Queen Mary University of London, is a long-standing member of the Financial Markets Law Committee (Bank of England) advising the Law Commission of England and Wales and HMG, and recently published the lead chapter of a Payments and Fintech volume (Edward Elgar 2022) (second edition underway). Anne also formerly led the New York and London chapters of the Law Council of Australia following which she currently chairs the Anglo-Australasian Lawyers Society and has won awards for the charity she founded in 2010, Lex:lead, working with the world's least developed countries worldwide.
