Jack is a well-regarded Costs Lawyer with experience in all aspects of traditional costs services, advocacy, training, and management. He is skilled in all stages of a costs claim; having received instructions from sophisticated clients, insurers, and solicitors to act on behalf of receiving and paying parties. Jack regularly undertakes advocacy in the Senior Costs Courts Office and King's Bench Division, of the High Court of Justice. He also manages a team of Costs Lawyers responsible for providing in-house traditional costs services, training on costs issues, assistance in practice development, and advocacy. Jack has exposure to a wide range of cases, with a core focus on personal injury (catastrophic), clinical negligence (child brain injury), and commercial costs; as well as experience in claims involving the Court of Protection, probate costs, design rights in the IPEC, professional negligence and cross-jurisdictional disputes. As Chairman of the Association of Costs Lawyers Jack is responsible for leading the representative body and regulator of last resort for all regulated Costs Lawyers. This work involves regular interaction with the judiciary and regulators, and members from across the country.
