The team's growth and achievements are highlighted by a significant increase in turnover, dealing with over £500 million worth of deals collectively.

The recent additions to the team include Rowan Thomas as Senior Associate Solicitor, Lucy Storey as Associate Solicitor, and Joshua Ackroyd as a Paralegal. Rowan brings 14 years of commercial property experience from an international firm, leading the department's expertise in development work. Newly Qualified Solicitors Conor Tobin and Victoria Adamson have also joined after starting as Trainees in 2021.

In a move to further fortify the team, Marcus Kaye, who joined Blacks in 2017, has been promoted to Partner. Marcus has played a crucial role in the team's growth in the Real Estate sector, providing leadership in advising high street lenders and handling mixed-use sites. Another promotion sees Ben Finley, who trained and qualified with Blacks, becoming a Senior Associate Solicitor, specialising in various leasehold and freehold transactions.

Over the past four years, Blacks' Real Estate department has expanded to 28 members, achieving deals exceeding £500 million and reporting a turnover of over £2 million in 2023. The team has worked with over 400 new clients and handled more than 600 new legal matters in the last financial year.

Commenting on his promotion, Marcus Kaye expressed his commitment to delivering expert and high-quality services as the Real Estate offering continues to grow. Beth Laidler, Partner in Real Estate at Blacks, emphasised the dedication to consolidating their offering in the property sector and building a strong reputation. The team's recent expansion is seen as a positive step, with new members settling into the Real Estate division.

Blacks' Real Estate team was shortlisted for 'Property Law Firm of the Year' at the Insider Yorkshire Property Industry Awards, showcasing the team's commitment to delivering first-class services.
