Offenders clean up local areas

Offenders serving community sentences will be put to work this week cleaning up local areas as part of a government initiative to raise public awareness of community punishments.

MPs back mediation in divorce

The increased use of mediation in divorce cases, enforcement of contact orders and paramountcy of child welfare were amongst the recommendations made by the Constitutional Affairs Select Committee

The court gave guidelines on the principles and practice of making protective costs orders in public law cases. On the facts, a protective costs order would be made where an application for judicial review was of general public importance because it related to the interests of the taxpayer in the support of major British companies in international trade and raised issues about the non-implementation of the published consultation policy of a government department.
