The firm is currently restructuring and will be practising as Kendall Freeman from 1 May 2003. The new firms will specialise in handling high value and complex transactions and disputes for leading members of the insurance industry, banks, UK and multinational corporates and governments.

All the firm’s property, technology and media practices are to join London firm Olswang, including partners Michael Cassidy, Jonathan Lewis and Susan Aslan.

Laurence Harris, chief executive at D J Freeman, said: “We’ve had an amicable and unified approach to the issues. Both our property, technology and media practices have some great lawyers and clients, but there was an insufficient strategic fit with the ongoing business.

I am very pleased we’ve been able to arrive at this result in a very friendly way among all the partners. I know that Olswang are committed to the investment in and development of these areas. We wish our friends joining Olswang every success in the future.”
