Technology, media and telecoms firm, Olswang, is to lose to retirement, its founding partner and chairman. Simon Olswang founded the firm in 1981 but has not done any fee-earning for some four years. He is understood to be leaving with an annuity package of around £200,000 a year for ten years.

Jonathan Ross has joined Mayfair firm Forsters from Denton Wilde Sapte as head of property litigation.

Sally Gonzalez has left the US legal IT consultancy Hildebrandt International to join rival consultancy, Baker Robbins & Co. Gonzalez, who has previously served as the CIO and chief knowledge officer of an AmLaw 100 firm, will be working on law firm KM projects both in the US and in the UK.

Regional set Exchange Chambers has hired two silks bringing its tally of QCs to 13. Civil law, personal injury and criminal practitioner Graham Wood QC joins from Liverpool's India Buildings along with criminal barrister John Jones QC from 28 St John Street in Manchester.

Norton Rose has voted senior litigation partner Deirdre Walker into the newly created position of London managing partner. Walker, who currently leads the commercial and banking litigation team, is one of the youngest appointments to Norton Rose management and the first woman to manage the London practice.

Southeast firm Cripps Harries Hall has appointed intellectual property (IP) specialist Peter Jennings as its new head of IP. Jennings joins from niche firm Pettman Smith, where he was a partner and head of IP.

Charles Langereis, who is head of Dutch tax practice at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has decided to join independent local firm Spigthoff. Langereis takes up the position from 1 July and will lead the firm's tax practice. He is taking one associate with him.

Rupert Jones, Buchanan Ingersoll’s head of real estate, has joined Weil Gotshal & Manges as senior European counsel. He will head up the firm’s real estate team.

Richards Butler has hired Garretts partner David Bolton as a consultant in its corporate finance group. Bolton spent six years at Garretts, having joined the firm from Herbert Smith where he was a partner for 23 years.
