The process achieves full legal separation of the two practice centres, which have been traded and managed separately for the past eight years.

At midnight on 1 November 2004, the Bristol, Birmingham and London (BBL) practice centre became Bevan Brittan LLP, while the Exeter, Plymouth, London, Taunton and Tiverton (EPL) practice centre became Ashfords.

The two new firms look forward to continuing to refer work to each other where appropriate.
