The trainees have been paid around £2,500 to join the firm six months later than originally scheduled, in what the firm says was a voluntary process.

Some of the recruits have already arrived at the firm having deferred their traineeships from March to September. Another group has agreed to join in March next year, rather than this September. The firm usually takes on around 18 to 20 trainees a year.
