Clifford
Chance has announced their six monthly results revealing a 10 per cent increase
in turnover from the same period last year.

Although the firm has missed their target budget by
about 7.5 per cent, the results suggest that recession fears exacerbated by
September 11 may have been unfounded. The first results released by a major law
firm, Clifford Chance billed £490 million for the first half of the year, which
includes the weeks following the September 11 tragedy. It is thought that the
London office made up just under half of this total, at around £210 million
between May and October.
