Studio Legale strengthens alliance with a move to New
York

Italian firm Studio Legale
Chiomenti is to launch a New York office to further strengthen its exclusive
alliance with US giant Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.

The
office will be independent from Skadden and will practise only Italian law.
Chiomenti partner Vitt-orio Tadei said the signing of the joint venture referral
agreement with Skadden in June had triggered the decision. Chiomenti is now in
the process of identifying which lawyers will relocate to New York and where the
office will be located, but the firm does not plan to open within Skadden's New
York premises. Few Italian firms have a New York presence, with Linklaters &
Alliance member Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners being the most established
in the US.
